Arrived to the track to unload and set up. Thank goodness for a garage. Just as we finished unloading everything we need into the garage the storm hit. Strong winds. It was a fun ride home to get some sleep for the upcoming weekend of racing.

Arrive early to the track to see that the track was still wet from the overnight rain. The clouds were still present and they were calling for more rain throughout the day. Mark decided to skip the morning session. He stated he knows this track and he knows his car. Why go out and take a chance on wrecking the car. He finished prepping his car to start prepping the DSR Radical.
Larry showed up and got suited to take his 1st session. He went out and ran some laps to get comfortable. The rain started to trickle down and the track started to get a little slick. He came back in and stated the track was fun but very slick out there with the rain. Larry's 1st session was 1.14.291; he was currently 4th in DSR.
It was time for Mark to get ready for his afternoon session. He decided to put on his intermediate tires to scrub them in. The track was still wet and it was sprinkling a little. At least this way if it were to rain he was ready. He went out and was running pretty good. Once the tires came in (got hot) they were sticking and he was pushing his times. He was able to get down to a 1.11.825 which was the best time he ever done at this track. He is currently qualified 1st in GTL and 5th in group.
Larry was getting ready for his afternoon session. The rain slowed down and hopefully stopped for the evening. Since we were in the garage we did not hear the announcement for his group. Mark got him ready in the garage so that he can just go right out to the track for his qualifying. He was running better this session. His times got down to a 1.12.146. He is currently 4th in DSR and 8th in group.
Not bad of a day since it was a soggy qualifying. We eat and drank and had a fun time at the driver/worker party.
Sunday June 15, 2008 - Happy Father's Day
Mark arrived and went over his car to get ready for the race. He was suited and ready to race. He lined up on the false grid to take his pace lap. Lights are out on pace car and the green flag flew. Going into turn 3 Mark called over the radio that he went off in the grass to avoid hitting a car. An EP Car spun in front of him and Mark went into the grass to avoid contact. Mark now has to go full throttle to regain his position. Mark was driving the fastest he could. His times had improved down to a 1.06.499 and he was able to finish the race 3rd in GTL and 12th in group. He was happy with that. The car is not hurt and he is as of right now 2nd in Northeast Division and qualified for Runoff's in Topeka, Kansas.
Larry arrived to watch some of the races before his race started. He got suited and was getting ready for his race. He lined up on the false grid to begin his pace lap. Lights out on the pace car once again and the green flag flew. He was off and driving. He was running well and his times improved down to a 1.01.561. He was down 2 laps but completed the race without any issues. He finished 6th in DSR and 9th in group. As of right now Larry is currently 1st in Northeast Division and is qualified for Runoff's in Topeka, Kansas.
Mark is done running Nationals and is going to go over the cars in depth and prepare for Runoff's. Mark will run a couple of regional races in the mean time. Larry stated he wants to go to Watkins Glen and Poconos to have some more fun.
