The MCR77 Racing Team competed in the 2008 Steel Cities Regional Race at BeaveRun in the ITA class with the #77 Honda CRX, GT Lite class with the #78 Honda Civic, FP class with the #29 BMW and ITS class with the #29 Mazda.
Another fun race weekend. Some minor glitches, nothing major with running 2 cars. Mark was running 78 GTL Honda Civic and 77 ITA Honda CRX. Completed qualifying sessions and was ready for the races. 77 ITA completed the entire race session with out any problems. 78 GTL during the race, the exhaust fell off. Mark got a finish in the 78 GTL even though the exhaust fell off. On Sunday Mark completed both the qualifying sessions and was looking both cars over before the races. The 78 GTL completed the race session with out any more issues. However the 77 ITA completed enough laps to get a completion, but had brake failure.
Mark Keefer 29 ITS
Mark Keefer was having a continuing problem of overheating after each session. He completed the qualifying session and 95% of the race to get his completion for the day. Sunday, Keefer went out to qualify and showed not overheating problems at this time. Went out for the race and the engine let go. He had enough laps completed to get his credit for the race.
AJ Anselm 29 FP
Saturday started off with a good test from all of last years bugs, car ran well but felt down on power, between sessions we check the timing, ran second qualifying car seemed much better, went on to the race and finished second, Sunday started off with a bad qualifying session, decided to change distributor to see if that would help during second qualifying ran ran well. started race third in class during race had passed 2nd place was trying to catch first place ended up passing first place when he had a problem, ended finishing the race in first place.
